A farmer has gone viral on TikTok for sharing the bisexual throuple drama that’s been going on in his pigeon coop.
Posting from Cottonwood Farms on 1 December, Chase Barnes said in the video: “Sit down, I have to tell you about a bisexual pigeon and all the drama he has brought to my barn. It’s absurd.”
The story starts with a male almond Italian Owl pigeon, who was previously paired up with a red pigeon to hopefully hatch their first eggs. However, after the two birds bonded and paired, it transpired that eggs weren’t in their future as the red pigeon was also found to be male.
The almond pigeon was then paired with a hen, and the two are now raising their own babies. Not wanting to leave his first love behind, the almond pigeon and the hen also brought the male pigeon into their relationship and are now all raising the babies together as a throuple.
But it gets even more complicated: the red pigeon also has an ex-wife pigeon that he was never really interested in, leading Barnes to believe that he’s gay. The ex-wife beard pigeon remarried and “somehow, in two weeks, got another male to divorce his wife.”
“This is a mess!” exclaims Barnes.
The internet reacted with typical hilarity to the story, with one Instagram user branding the tale “Dove Island”, in a cheeky reference to hit ITV dating show Love Island.
“This is the future conservatives are afraid of”, added another user.
One person threw some unexpected shade at the spurned ex-wife, posting: “There’s zero drama in this whatsoever. Sounds like a healthy throuple situation and the ex wife being a mess has nothing to do with them.”
Meanwhile, one amateur comic mused: “If these were parrots they’d be referred to as Pollyamorous.”
