It’s official: the horny, gay hockey boys will be back for Heated Rivalry season two, and fans are delighted.
Created, written and directed by Jacob Tierney, the show follows the multi-year story of Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) and Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams), two rival ice hockey players who engage in a passionate romance.
Based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series, the show has made waves thanks to the actors’ chemistry and the incredibly steamy sex scenes.
The show is now streaming on HBO Max USA, Latin America, Europe (excluding UK and Ireland, Spain and Turkey) and also Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Macau, Sri Lanka and Nepal).
The news was then announced in a video posted online of Storrie and Williams opening a gift together. Inside the wrapped box is a hockey puck with “season two” written on it.
“Hotter, wetter, and longer”
“Season two. Heated Rivalry. Confirmed,” Storrie announced. Meanwhile, Williams teased that the next season will be “hotter, wetter, and longer.”

What has author Rachel Reid said about Heated Rivalry season 2?
Heated Rivalry author Reid had a lovely reaction to the announcement of a second season.
Another post sees the actors being told they’ve secured a second season. On that post, Reid commented: “Another season of all these guys!!!!”
The video caption reads: “It’s official. Season 2 of HEATED RIVALRY is coming. And yes…. things are about to get even hotter on the ice.
“Watch the exact moment Jacob and Brendan dropped the news to Connor, Hudson, and Rachel. To every fan who’s screamed, streamed, and swooned over our show – thank you.” The post also adds: “This next chapter’s for YOU.”

What could Heated Rivalry season 2 be about?
The first six-episode season of the drama has already dazzled fans, but what will the next season include?
Heated Rivalry season 2 is expected to be inspired by Reid’s The Long Game, the next instalment of Shane and Ilya’s journey.
Also, the book returns to the hockey players after they’ve been navigating their secret long-term relationship for ten years.
The book’s synopsis reads: “Ten years. That’s how long Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov have been seeing each other. How long they’ve been keeping their relationship a secret. From friends, from family…from the league.
“If Shane wants to stay at the top of his game, what he and Ilya share has to remain secret. He loves Ilya, but what if going public ruins everything?
“Ilya is sick of secrets. Shane has gotten so good at hiding his feelings, sometimes Ilya questions if they even exist. The closeness, the intimacy, even the risk that would come with being open about their relationship…Ilya wants it all.
“It’s time for them to decide what’s most important—hockey or love. It’s time to make a call.”
Prepare for the angst to be dialled up! Predicting what’s to come, many fans were both ecstatic and apprehensive about the adaptation of The Long Game.
“Hey now….why didn’t anyone sufficiently prepare me for how emotionally heavy Heated Rivalry book 2 was? Watching Ilya struggle with depression….I am unwell,” one fan posted.
Another added: “okay but season 2 of heated rivalry needs to be LONGERRRR pls im begging for at Least 8 episodes.”
“heated rivalry getting renewed for s2 before the season ends and with half of the audience watching it illegally…. oh their power,” another fan noted.
