Amanda Holden has responded to rumours that she and Alan Carr could take the Strictly Come Dancing hosting gig.
In October, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, the latter of whom also hosts The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors, announced they were stepping down from the juggernaut BBC show at the end of the current series.
At the weekend, Holden was included by The Sun in a list of stars being considered to takeover. Carr was also included with the paper saying “chemistry tests” were underway to find a new dream duo.

The Sun also named Alison Hammond, Angela Scanlon, Alex Jones, Bradley Walsh, Zoe Ball, Rylan Clark, Rob Rinder, and Holly Willoughby as potential candidates.
While hosting the Heart Radio Breakfast Show on Monday (15 December) alongside Jamie Theakston and Ashley Roberts Holden was asked about the reports.
Holden confirmed: “I want to say now that me and Alan are 100 percent not doing Strictly. We are so flattered to be in that mix. We both are not doing it.”
She explained judging Britain’s Got Talent would take up a lot of her weekends.

Continuing she said, “Alan, his career has just blown up even more because of [The Celebrity] Traitors. So yes, take our names off the list, ’cause we’re not doing it.” She then repeated: “100 percent.”
Holden also laughed at the idea of doing a chemistry test with Carr given the pair have alreadt fronted two series where they make over houses, one in Italy and another in Spain. The pair are doing the same in an upcoming series set in Greece.
“Good luck to anyone in the mix,” Holden closed. Commenting on a clip of the exchange Carr added: “Good luck to whoever gets the job!!!”
Holden’s comments echo Carr’s. In November, Carr told The Radio Times: “It’s lovely to be thought of but it’s probably a bit too nerve-racking.”
He cited his sweating on The Celebrity Traitors not being a good mix with the polished Strictly dance floor.
He also announced a mammoth UK tour in 2027, with many dates falling on Saturdays when Strictly would be filming. Sadly, we doubt producers would want to hire Carr for 2026 only to lose him the next year.
Though in regard to Holden’s comments about her BGT commitments, that show finished airing in May this year and could do the same again in 2026. If so, that could mean Holden is free later in the year for Strictly…
