Billie Eilish is facing backlash from fans for sharing a series of Al images depicting her as a man.
The 23-year-old singer posted the AI-generated images on her Instagram stories recently. The images showed the “bad guy” singer in a range of outfits and looks.
Some fans thought the male version of Eilish was good looking, while others called out the singer.
Among the criticism one fan wrote: “Billie ‘hates ai’ yet she shares ai pics to her stories that are watched by millions.” Another said they were “low key super surprised that Billie shared something that is AI it seems not like her”.
In 2024, Eilish, along with more than 200 other artists and music figures, signed an open letter calling for an end to the use of AI in the music industry.
The letter read: “When used irresponsibly, Al poses enormous threats to our ability to protect our privacy, our identities, our music and our livelihoods.”
It went on to say: “For many working musicians, artists and songwriters who are just trying to make ends meet, this would be catastrophic.”
Earlier this year, Eilish called out the use of AI imagery when images of her at the Met Gala circulated online.

After people criticised the outfit Eilish was depicted as wearing she clarified that the pictures weren’t real. She also confirmed that she was performing in Amsterdam at the time.
“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala, being trash. I wasn’t there. That’s Al. I had a show in Europe, that night. Let me be, I wasn’t even there,” the “Birds of a Feather” singer said as reported by People.
