Heated Rivalry‘s Hudson Williams has squashed the supposed ‘beef’ with Jordan Firstman after the latter criticised the LGBTQ+ sports drama.
The series is based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels and has gripped the internet’s attention, becoming an instant hit.
The TV series focuses on Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) and Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams), two rival hockey players who engage in a steamy romance.

Speaking to Vulture last week Firstman, who stars in I Love LA, criticised Heated Rivalry for being inauthentic.
“It’s just not gay. It’s not how gay people f***,” he said adding a “straight guy could not write” about gay sex. However, Heated Rivalry’s showrunner, Jacob Tierney, is gay.
His comments prompted a backlash after which Firstman took to his Instagram story on Saturday (13 December) to say: “I love Heated Rivalry and ultimately I’m a f***** who can’t shut the f*** up but I’m gunna get better at that.”
On Wednesday (17 December) Williams posted a snap of himself and Firstman smoking together with a red heart emoji above Firstman’s head in an apparent sign that all is well.

It follows Williams posting on Instagram after Firstman’s initial comments to say: “But truly go watch I Love LA! Jordan and the cast are great!!”
François Arnaud, who plays Scott Hunter in the series, also responded to Firstman’s initial comments. He questioned: “Is there only one way to have ‘authentic’ gay sex on TV? Should the sex closeted hockey players have look like the sex sceney LA gay guys have?”
Season 2 of Heated Rivalry has been confirmed.
Currently the show isn’t available in the UK. However, Deadline has reported that deal is “imminent”.
