Overcompensating‘s Kyle MacLachlan has given us a tease of what to expect from season two of the hit comedy.

Created by Benito Skinner – aka Benny Drama – the semi-autobiographical series follows Skinner as Benny, a new college student and former football player who is in the closet.

As he navigates his freshman year, he befriends fellow newbie Carmen (Wally Baram) and the pair embark on a journey to fit in by whatever means possible.

Following the raucous first season, a second was confirmed in September. Since then there has been very little in the way of updates.

However, MacLachlan, who plays Benny and Grace’s (Mary Beth Barone) dad, John, spoke to Deadline on the red carpet for Fallout season two recently.

“I don’t know anything. I know that Benny and the group are in the writers room, and I know they’re working away. But I am as curious as you are about what they have up their sleeve, so we’ll see. I mean, whatever it is, it’ll be great,” he said.

MacLachlan starred opposite Connie Britton, who played Benny and Grace’s mother, Kathryn.

Overcompensating season one ended with Carmen practically outing Benny in front of Grace. The besties’ friendship is also on the rocks after Carmen made out with Miles (Rish Shah), Benny’s crush.

That leaves plenty of storylines to explore for season two.
