The festive period means plenty of TV specials, which this year includes a New Year’s Eve edition of The Weakest Link featuring TikTok star, Luke Hamnett.
The programme’s ‘Party Special’ will be fronted by comedian Romesh Ranganathan and will air on BBC One on 31 December.
As well as Hamnett, the show will feature Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins, TV personality Charlotte Crosby, actress Patsy Palmer, potter Keith Brymer Jones, comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri, TV personality Merlin Griffiths, and Bash the Entertainer.

What does Luke Hamnett do?
Luke Hamnett is a former secondary school teacher and also insurance salesman from Stoke-on-Trent. He became popular online by posting videos on TikTok during the pandemic.
He posts a variety of content, usually comedic, revolving around characters like ‘Matthew’s Mum’ as well as relatable every day experiences.
How many followers does he have?
Between TikTok and Instagram (at the time of writing) Luke has 2.9 million followers.
What award did he win?
In 2024 Luke was named the winner of the Entertainment bCreator™ of the Year award, sponsored by ITV.
Asked what inspires his content he said: “Every day life.” He added: “When I hear or see something that resonates with me, I quickly write it down in my notes and when I then look to do a video, I’ll create a script and make it funny.”
What’s his podcast called?
The podcast he hosts with his mum, Janet, is called Live, Laugh, Luke… with Luke Hamnett. It’s a play on the popular phrase ‘Live, Laugh, Love’.
On the show, Luke, Janet and their guests “share stories, memories and laughs in this podcast that is guaranteed to make you smile”.
Does Luke Hamnett have a partner?
Luke likes to keep his personal live private, but in September 2024 shared a sweet anniversary post after eight years.
His mystery partner’s face was away from the camera, and since then Luke has continued to keep his relationship private.
There was no anniversary post in September 2025, but we’re hoping that’s just because his partner wants to stay out of the spotlight!
What advocacy has he done?
After noticing a dark mole on holiday three years ago Luke went for a check up. While it was benign, he’s described the moment to Attitude as a “wake up call”. He also urged people to get themselves checked out for melanoma.
