People think The Traitors cast are all linked – here are the theories

Faraaz, Amanda, and Sam have all been included in 'the family theory' by The Traitors fandom.

Everyone is buzzing with theories now that The Traitors is back. Among the theories is one that all the contestants are somehow connected.

The new series of The Traitors kicked off on New Year’s Day with Claudia Winkleman returning to oversee the ultimate game of deception.

The Faithfuls, who remain unaware of the Secret Traitor, have already caught Hugo, their first Traitor. Stephen and Rachel, the other Traitors, are not without suspicion.

With the identity of the Secret Traitor due to be revealed tonight (Wednesday 7 January) everyone’s theories as to who it could be will be put to rest. However, there are many other theories that will live on.

And one that has gathered a lot of attention is that all the contestants have entered the castle in a pair.

Set out by Instagram user Indigoreports, this theory is based on the presence of the family tree picture in the castle. And the theory has got some convincing proof.

We’ve already had it confirmed that banished Faithful, Judy, is the mum of Roxy. And Faithfuls Ross and Netty made it public early on that they’d met 15 years prior.

And fans are busy speculating about other potential connections among the contestants.

People suspect Ellie and Ross are dating given holiday snaps they’ve shared of themselves separately that people believe to be from the Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort. The pair also follow each other on the most romantic of platforms, LinkedIn, and were seen in an image together from before the show.

Viewers also think the same of Judy and Amanda, though Amanda has posted publicly about her partner who isn’t Judy. However, some think the two are friends and met through work.

People have also theorised that Maz and Faraaz are father and son. However, Maz’s real children have disproven this, according to Grazia.

Similarly, people think Ellie and Fiona are mother and daughter due to what some see as a resemblance. People have also theorised this about Amanda and Reece.

And other viewers believe Hugo and Harriet could either be siblings or co-workers given they’re both current and former barristers.

Stephen has also been linked with Sam or Jack by some viewers. However, Stephen has posted on social media with his partner, who is neither Sam nor Jack.

But key to all the theories is the family tree picture which has Latin written above and below it.

That’s been translated to read: “Beware those whom you trust as your own blood – the sharpest knives are often passed at the table by faithful hands.

“Among intimate friends, the most hidden enemies lurk; beware lest your trust becomes the cause of your ruin and destruction.”

Whether that’s just a warning to the Faithfuls not to turn on each other or something more will be determined as the season progresses.

The Traitors continues on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Wednesday 7 January.
