Princess of pop Britney Spears has vowed to never perform in the US again, citing “extremely sensitive reasons”.

Spears, who in 2021 was officially freed from the conservatorship imposed by her father Jamie Spears in 2008, took to Instagram on Thursday (8 January) to share rare insight into her life.

She captioned a throwback photo of her sitting next to a piano: “Sending this piano to my son this year!!!

“Interestingly enough, I dance on IG to heal things in my body that people have no idea about,” she continued, adding that “it’s embarrassing sometimes”.

‘He’s a huge star…’

She went on: “But I walked through the fire to save my life… I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son… in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon. He’s a huge star and I’m so humbled to be in his presence!!! God speed, little man!!!”

Spears, who shares two children with her ex-husband Kevin Federline – Jayden, 19, and Preston, 20 – didn’t name which son she was referencing.

In a previous post of Jayden playing the piano she described him as a “genius”. She added in the post: “I’m in awe of him. I can’t believe he’s mine!!! I was honestly scared that’s not normal!!!”

Last month, Jayden reportedly spent Christmas was Spears in California. A source told Us Weekly: “She had an amazing time with Jayden on Christmas. They laughed a lot and bonded more than they have in a while.”

Last year, Spears responded to what she described as a “hurtful” memoir from Federline.

“The constant gaslighting from my ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,” she began in a statement posted to Instagram. “I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys.”

Spears published her own memoir, The Woman In Me, in 2023.
