The internet has gone wild after Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie carried the Winter Olympic Flame, looking iconic while doing so.
Heated Rivalry, a TV adaptation of Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novel series, follows two rising stars in the ice hockey world – closeted Canadian prodigy Shane (Williams) and bisexual Russian star (Storrie) – who begin an illicit, closeted romance.
Following the show airing, the pair quickly became the internet’s boyfriends, thanks to their steamy scenes.
The stars participation as torch bearers during the Olympic Torch Relay, which will conclude on 6 February in Milan, saw fans of the hit hockey drama go absolutely wild.
On Sunday (25 January), The Olympic Games’ X account revealed that the pair had arrived to carry the torch.
“Our pookies have arrived at the cottage,” the post, which has more than 129,000 likes, read.
Fans of the show can’t get over the duo’s flawless effort, which was full of adorable smiles.
“Connor’s cute smiles to light up the moment,” one person commented under the post alongside a video of Storrie carrying the flame.
“Love a social media manager that knows how to best utilize their platform<3,” someone else commented under the post.
A different user reposted a clip of them holding the flames together, writing: “that little gay hockey show with 2 dollars of budget got them there my god.”
A comment under the post read: “Honestly the world may be burning but everyone can agree gay love is always beautiful.”
A post with more than 30,000 likes read: “why is the official olympics account tweeting like oomf [one of my followers].” “Probably is one of us,” a fan responded.
Another post from the Olympics account shared a video of the Heated Rivalry stars holding the flame while waving to fans. “Admin is unwell,” the clip is captioned.
One person responded: “Amoreessssssss. Same Admin?” Others shared memes expressing their adoration for the pair.
Another fan captioned a different clip of the duo: “THEY LOOK LIKE HUNGER GAMES TRIBUTES!”
The post, which has accrued more than 100,000 likes, sees many fans of the pair agree.
“I’ve been saying this,” one person wrote alongside a photo of Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) holding up their hands together.
“I need to edit the hunger games theme over this LMAO,” someone else joked of the iconic moment.
