A new The White Lotus season 4 cast update, which has revealed that Helena Bonham Carter will be coming aboard, teases what to expect from Mike White‘s beloved comedy-drama anthology series.

White – the show’s creator, writer and director – has revealed very little about the fourth instalment of his murder-mystery show. The White Lotus has repeatedly followed a different ensemble cast as they spend a week at a fictional luxury hotel.

The lauded show, which has now won 16 Emmy awards and two Golden Globes, seems set to shake things up a bit in its fourth season. Here is everything we know so far about The White Lotus season 4:

**Where will The White Lotus season 4 be located?**

The White Lotus is known for its luxurious hotels and for the fourth season, the show is heading to France.

The show is rumoured to be set at the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez. Prepare for beautiful South of France views and delicious pastries to form a stunning backdrop for a murder mystery.

The first three seasons were set in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand, respectively. If you’re looking to descend on the 5-star Château de La Messardière, the hotel is temporarily closed. However, their website offers a glimpse at what we can expect from the seaside season four location.

The show is also said to include locations in Paris and multiple settings along the French Riviera.

**Who has been cast in The White Lotus season 4?**

A recent announcement has seen three new names attached to The White Lotus season 4.

Helena Bonham Carter had been rumoured to be joining the show’s fourth season. Those whispers have now been confirmed by Deadline.

Sharp Objects’ Chris Messina is also joining season four alongside Marissa Long. The show will mark Long’s television debut.

The trio join the already announced cast of Vikings’ Alexander Ludwig, Super 8’s AJ Michalka, I’m Alan Partridge’s Steve Coogan and Black Snow’s Caleb Jonte Edwards.

However, character roles remain under wraps. There has also been no announcement yet about which character from a previous season will return.

Jennifer Coolidge starred in seasons one and two, while Natasha Rothwell appeared in seasons one and three. Meanwhile, Jon Gries has appeared in all three seasons, but no word yet on whether he’ll return for the fourth.

Fans believe that Charlotte Le Bon, who plays Greg’s (Gries) girlfriend, may be the returning character, as she speaks French. But we’ll have to wait and see for confirmation.

Previously, White revealed he’d love Sydney Sweeney to reprise her role as Olivia in season four of the show. However, he said it’d be unlikely.

“I don’t know if we could afford her now,” he said. “As of now, it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen.”
