Chappell Roan makes Fortnite debut but skins leave some fans disappointed: ‘I’m out’

All the rumours are true. Chappell Roan skins are officially coming to Fortnite, but her fans seem fairly divided on the outfits that will soon be available.

On Tuesday (3 February) Epic Games confirmed that the long-rumoured Chappell Roan and Fortnite collaboration is real, with the Grammy-winning sapphic pop songstress set to become the Fortnite Festival season 13 headliner.

Fans of the “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl” singer will be able to play as their idol from Thursday 5 February (2pm GMT/6am PT time), as she will be available as part of the new Heartcore Music Pass.

The pass will allow users to access two Roan looks from her recent The Midwest Princess Tour, including her baby pink and fringed “Pink Pony Club” look, and the same performance look in red. The pass also includes tour accessories.

Fans will also be able to buy another Chappell Roan skin in the Fortnite shop, the ‘Roan of Arc’ skin, which is based on the iconic knight in shining armour outfit that Roan wore for her spellbinding performance of “Good Luck, Babe!” at the 2024 MTV VMAs.

On social media, news of the official Chappell Roan and Fortnite collaboration has sent the singer’s fandom wild, but not all fans are impressed with the selection of looks available.

Writing on Reddit, some fans bemoaned the fact the none of the three available looks feature Roan’s signature white face makeup.

“Ohhh I love it but at the same time I am disappointed that they don’t have a skin with the white makeup she wears,” one fan wrote.

“I was really hoping that Chappell would be the first skin we have in full drag queen make up but unfortunately they didn’t do that,” a second agreed, adding: “Still though, these skins eat.”

A third dubbed the outfits “underwhelming” considering Roan is known for “so many iconic looks”.

Others have expressed their disappointment that Chappell Roan’s most recent headline-grabbing outfit, the Mugler nipple ring dress she wore at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday (1 February), isn’t included as a skin – despite the time frame between the Grammys and the Fortnite collaboration announcement being incredibly small.

“No red carpet nipple ring dress? Darn,” one fan wrote, as a second agreed: “If it doesn’t have her Grammy’s red carpet outfit, I’m out.”

“Whoever made these skins really messed up, this one would’ve sold way better,” a third wrote, sharing a photo of Roan’s recent Grammy garment.

Other fans however are bowled over by the looks selected for Roan’s Fortnite collaboration, while some are simply thrilled the collaboration is real.

“Oh my f****** God take my money,” one fan wrote, with a second agreeing: “This might be the best looking set of festival skins yet.”

“They added lesbianism to Fortnite,” a third celebrated.

A fourth wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “I know she is so happy about this.”

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 in January 2025, “The Subway” singer confirmed that she is a fan of Fortnite and plays the smash hit game to unwind.

Chappell Roan joins a growing list of female pop superstars to feature on Fortnite, with Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter also having their own Fortnite skins.
