GOP senator demands Billie Eilish give up Grammy after anti-ICE speech

Republican senator Eric Schmitt has called on Billie Eilish to give back her Grammy after she criticised ICE during her acceptance speech.

Eilish sparked backlash after winning Song of the Year for ‘Wildflower’ on Sunday 2 February, when she told the audience that “no one is illegal on stolen land” while addressing US immigration policy.

Escalating the criticism the singer has faced since, Schmitt argued Eilish should also give up her home, saying: “There can be no Grammys on stolen land, I think.”

“I think Billie Eilish ought to give the Grammy back and probably her mansion, which, I guess, is on stolen land, too.

“It’s ridiculous. It’s… These people are completely out of touch, and so, whatever. Yeah,” he told the Nicholas Ballasy YouTube channel on 5 February.

Eilish’s brother Finneas last week hit out at haters speaking on his sister’s empowering speech.

Finneas wrote on Threads: “Seeing a lot of very powerful old white men outraged about what my 24-year-old sister said during her acceptance speech. We can literally see your names in the Epstein files.”

MAGA influencer Emily Austin was among those trying to poke fun at Eilish over her Grammys speech.
