Heated Rivalry breakout star Francois Arnaud is keeping his new legion of fans fed by stripping off for his next big project.
The Canadian actor, 40, is starring alongside Pascale Bussières in Someone’s Daughter, a nail-biting survival thriller movie which will see the actor’s character Paul kidnapped and left on a remote island.
Someone’s Daughter follows Bussières as Sam, “a criminal defense lawyer in her 50s, who is kidnapped and abandoned on a remote island with Paul [Arnaud], a former client she successfully defended a decade earlier when he was accused of raping the kidnapper’s daughter,” as per an official synopsis.
“As the pair struggles to survive the brutal Canadian backcountry, an uneasy bond forms. However, Paul’s behaviour turns increasingly toxic, leading Sam to an impossible choice.”
In a first look at the tense new movie, Francois Arnaud appears shirtless and brandishing a gun, seemingly in a state of distress.
A second photo shows Arnaud and Bussières as Paul and Sam looking grubby and dishevelled as they attempt to survive their time in the wilderness.
Someone’s Daughter is written and directed by Wiebke von Carolsfeld, who previously worked with Elliot Page on 2002 indie drama Marion Bridge. The film also stars Michael Greyeyes and Peter Outerbridge and recently finished filming, according to Deadline.
The movie is set to be launched for sale at the European Film Market in Berlin, which begins on 12 February.
Despite his TV and film career beginning almost two decades ago – and with roles in hits including Twinless, Yellowjackets and Schitt’s Creek – Arnaud found overnight fame at the tailend of 2025 thanks to his role in steamy queer hockey series, Heated Rivalry.

Arnaud plays ice hockey pro Scott Hunter, who falls in love with barista Kip Grady, played by Robbie G.K.
Season two of Heated Rivalry is due to commence filming over the summer, with a release window of spring 2027. It is currently unconfirmed whether Arnaud and G.K. will reprise their roles for the second season.
