South African country musician Orville Peck announced in a post to his Instagram on Tuesday (10 February) that he is no longer represented by the Wasserman talent agency.

Peck wrote: “In light of the recent findings regarding Casey Wasserman, I have made the decision to no longer be represented by the Wasserman talent agency.”

“My heartfelt thanks goes out to my personal team, some of whom I have respected, trusted and worked with for close to a decade.

“I leave with a huge amount of compassion for the rest of the agents and staff at the agency, who are being left with a situation that impacts all of our work and livelihoods,” he concluded.

His announcement comes on the heels of Chappell Roan’s Monday (9 February) announcement that she had parted ways with the Wasserman agency over founder and CEO’s Casey Wasserman’s appearance in files related to Jeffrey Epstein released by the US Department of Justice late last month.

Wasserman has faced criticism for flirtatious email exchanges with convicted sex trafficker and former romantic partner of Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, more than 20 years ago.

Wasserman has denied having a personal or business relationship with Epstein.

In a statement, shared with the Daily Mail, Wasserman said he “regrets” the exchanges with Maxwell and noted they took place before her crimes came to light.

“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light.

“I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” Wasserman claimed. “As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane.

“I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”
