Two people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of Botched star Jordan James Parke.
Parke, dubbed by the press as the ‘Lip King’ due to his extensive cosmetic surgery, was found dead last Wednesday, 18 February. He was 34.
Metropolitan police confirmed yesterday (23 February) that two people, a 43-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, had been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter on Friday, 20 February. The pair have been bailed pending investigation.
The police force said in a statement to ITV News that it had been called to reports of an unconscious man at the four-star Lincoln Plaza hotel in Canary Wharf, London. The 34-year-old was declared dead at the scene.
“His death is currently being treated as unexplained, and an investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing,” the force said, adding that it had information which suggested he may have been “undergoing a cosmetic procedure prior to his death”.
“This is an initial line of enquiry at this stage. Officers are currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination that will be held in due course.”
Beautician Parke first hit headlines back in 2014 due to his numerous cosmetic procedures, before appearing on an episode of US reality series Botched in 2015, seeking assistance with his faulty lip fillers. He appeared on the show again in 2019.
He had made several appearances on British TV talking about his experience of plastic surgery. In 2016, he appeared on ITV morning show This Morning, revealing that he had spent £130,000 on plastic surgery as part of his aim to look like The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian.
In the segment, entitled ‘My Obsession With Kim Kardashian Could Kill Me’, Parke detailed some of his cosmetic procedures, including tattooed eyebrows, lip fillers, nose jobs, chin implants, neck liposuction, cheek fillers, jawline filler and botox.
Writing on social media, Parke’s sister Shernelle confirmed that her “beautiful, funny” sibling Parke passed away on 18 February.
“We as a family are numb, shocked and heartbroken,” she wrote, as per The Sun.
“There will be some unkind messages that will be posted regarding this heartbreaking news but please if you knew Jordan you will know that none of what will be posted is true and please keep him in your heart!
“Jordan, I have no words to explain the sadness and heartbreak that we are feeling; you were our best friend, our whole world, our everything! We love you more than anything in the world!”
Parke had been arrested in 2024 on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of mother-of-five Alice Webb, who died hours after having a non-surgical, liquid Brazilian butt lift (BBL) with Parke.
The procedure typically involves injecting dermal filler into the buttock in order to make them bigger. Webb’s death was believed to be the first of its kind in the UK.
Parke had been released on bail and was due to answer bail in March. He had not been charged with an offence.
