Pedro Pascal debuts very different look at Oscars and fans are all saying the same thing

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal rocked up to the red carpet at last night’s Oscars (15 March) looking not quite like his usual self.

The 50-year-old actor was on hand at the Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to present the Best Production Design accolade, alongside Sigourney Weaver.

Before heading onto the main stage, the Narcos star took a moment to wave and pose for the cameras on the star-studded red carpet, debuting a bold new look in the process.

He flashed a smile as he showed off his new facial hair arrangement – or rather, lack of. Yep, Pedro Pascal is a clean shaven man now.

The actor arrived wearing a white button-down shirt courtesy of Chanel, stamped with a large, textured floral embellishment on his chest area. The shirt was paired with high-waisted black trousers and, in the spirit of Jonathan Bailey, some thin-rimmed ‘sl*tty little glasses’.

He proudly flipped a peace sign at the cameras before making his way into the theatre hall.

His striking new look swiftly became the talk of the evening on social media, with some remarking how different he looks without his signature moustache.

An abundance of social media users remarked on Best Actor nominee Leonardo DiCaprio debuting a new moustache at the ceremony, with most joking that Pascal had given his away to the One Battle After Another star.

“Breaking: Leonardo DiCaprio has stolen Pedro Pascal’s mustache,” one X user quipped.

“It looks like Leonardo DiCaprio and Pedro Pascal have swapped facial hair,” a second joshed.

“So that’s what clean shaven Reed would’ve looked like,” another wrote, referring to Pascal’s role as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in the 2025 Marvel film The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

While some are urging the actor to grow his facial back as swiftly as he can, others were fairly pleased with his new look.

“Good sir… this is next level,” wrote one fan of the actor on Instagram.

“He looks so happy and healthy!! Young AF as well,” a second shared.

Pedro Pascal has previously commented on his fans’ demand for him never to remove his moustache.

In a 2019 WIRED interview alongside Oscar Isaac, Pascal suggested that he isn’t a fan of his facial hair, saying that it makes him “look undernourished”.

He then told a story of how the director of a play he was in before his Narcos role began told him he should keep his moustache.

“Now people are like, ‘Don’t ever get rid of your moustache, you look like my grandmother without it.’”
