Singer Renee Rapp was forced to pause her show at Manchester’s AO Arena multiple times on Wednesday (18 March) after a number of issues in the crowd.
The out lesbian songstress, was performing in Manchester as part of her “Bite Me” tour, when she noticed fans signalling for help from the audience.
According to the Manchester Evening News, she stopped her song “I Think I Like You Better” after fans started waving around torches to ask for medical help. Meanwhile, two other groups managed to get the attention of security.
Later, during the next song “Tummy Hurts”, the show was stopped after more incidents within the crowd.
It’s reported that, sadly, things only got worse from there.
The “Pretty Girls” singer had to ask people to take a step back to make room for those squashed at the front, and requested staff to turn up the lights so security could help those in need easier.
During “Not My Fault”, a planned audience gag, in which the song is paused to switch to another, didn’t go as smoothly as more fans needed assistance.
But the superstar kept everyone calm, assuring them security was on their way as she said: “They are right here and ready to help you.”
The tour is set to move to the OVO Arena Wembley in London on 19 and 20 March, before heading to 3Arena in Dublin on 22 March.
Rapp then has a string of performances at festivals across Europe over the summer.
