First-ever trans MMA world title fight ‘Femme World Championship’ is set to be ‘event of the year’

Critical Combat has announced the Femme World Championship, making history with the first MMA world title fight between two transgender competitors.
MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts, which is a full-contact combat sport combining techniques from boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and muay thai.
The groundbreaking world title fight will be the headlining event at a major MMA event in New Jersey.
The fight will see a championship bout between Summer Brady and Gita Figueroa. The event will be part of Critical Combat 4: Conquer The Gauntlet.
“Critical Combat returns on June 20, 2026, in Middletown, New Jersey,” the announcement reads.
“In our historic Co-Main Event, Summer Brady and Gita Figueroa step into the Critical Combat cage, both looking to walk away as the undisputed Critical Combat Femme Champion.
‘We will go blow for blow and slam for slam’
“Contested at Super Lightweight, this bout will mark the first MMA world title fight between two trans athletes.”
For both Brady and Figueroa, this match will be their professional debuts in MMA. Previously, the competitors have competed against each other twice in amateur Muay Thai.
Previously, Brady (known as ‘The Non-Binary Ninja’) won their first fight in March 2025. Then, in December 2025, Figueroa (known as ‘The Maneater’) secured the win against Brady.
So, this Femme World Championship match will end the tie-break between the two fighters and determine the champion.
‘This gonna be the event of the year’
Many MMA fans are thrilled about the forthcoming Femme World Championship.
“This gonna be the event of the year for sure! Waiting for it very much,” one fan wrote under the announcement.
Another shared: “This is such a monumental and historic moment for the MMA world, I’m so excited to see these two incredible athletes compete for the title!”
Posting about the announcement on her Instagram story, Figueroa shared: Storyline: Summer and I have been back and forth for 4 years as friends and foes.
“We have needed each other and yet not needed each other during our journeys. The 1st fight was given to her over my arm injury. She agreed to a rematch as a kind gesture and I beat her in December. So technically we are even.
“This time she wanted to challenge herself to finally fight in MMA and I gladly accepted. We will now go blow for blow and slam for slam. Who is better?”
