EastEnders kicks off ‘messy’ bisexual love triangle as Oscar Branning makes his move

EastEnders has kicked off a love triangle between Oscar and Josh

EastEnders fans are getting excited after the BBC soap kicked off a bisexual love triangle between Oscar Branning, Josh Goodwin and his sister Jasmine Fisher.

News of the storyline was teased earlier this year, and in scenes that aired on Monday night (23 March) it got going.

Oscar Branning, played by Pierre Counihan-Moullier, bumped into Josh, played by Joshua Vaughn, and started flirting.

Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) told her brother to “open your heart” and see what happened with the potential romance.

The boys later met up at the Prince Albert and eventually locked lips.

However, unbeknownst to them, they’re actually already linked. That’s because Oscar, who confirmed he was bisexual on the soap in July last year, has dated Josh’s twin sister Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness).

Fans reckon things will soon get complicated. One said online: “I am a sucker for a big gay messy love story.”

Another said: “Imagine the shock you will get Oscar when you learn that your ex is your new love interests sister! From the moment you bumped into Josh, chemistry instantly happened!”

A third wrote: “Oscar has so much more chemistry with Josh than he ever did with Jasmine. I wish for once no hearts get broken here!”

Who is Pierre Counihan-Moullier?

Pierre Counihan-Moullier has played Oscar Branning on EastEnders since the summer of 2025. The role was previously played by twins Charlee and Neo Hall eight years before.

His acting career started early, playing Daniel in Cries from the Heart at the Royal Court Theatre when he was around seven years old.

Since then, he has had a number of other theatre roles, including in The Surplus (2014), My England (2018) and The Second Woman (2023) at the Young Vic.

He was also a stunt actor in fantasy Netflix series Fate: The Winx Saga in 2021.

But outside of his career, little is known about his personal life, and his Instagram account is empty.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One, with episodes available from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
