What Stop That Train is about
The comedy follows drag queens on a high-speed train journey that turns chaotic. Tess (Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee) work as train stewardesses aboard the glitzy “Glamazonian Express”, until a catastrophic ‘Stormganza’ threatens to derail the trip. The pair must team up with “snobby first class attendants” and President Gagwell (RuPaul) to save the day.
Release date, rights and producers
The film was originally slated for a 29 May release, but will now hit cinemas on 12 June. Bleecker Street has North American rights, while Universal Pictures Content Group will handle international rights.
Producers listed for the film include Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, RuPaul and Shankman.
RuPaul Charles became a global household name through RuPaul’s Drag Race, a franchise that has helped mainstream drag culture internationally and launched numerous drag careers across multiple spin-offs. RuPaul’s wider pop-culture profile has also extended beyond LGBTQ+ spaces through music and books, often receiving mixed reviews but all with high-camp value.
