A man previously accused of stalking Billie Eilish has reportedly died after being struck by a train in Long Island, New York.

Prenell Rousseau, 30, was killed early in the morning on 25 March while reportedly jogging “on or near” train tracks in Westbury as reported by the New York Post.

Authorities are treating the incident as an accident, with no indication of foul play.

Rousseau had previously made headlines in May 2020, when Eilish was granted a temporary restraining order against him after he allegedly showed up uninvited at her Los Angeles home multiple times.

According to court filings, Rousseau arrived at Eilish’s home and rang the doorbell, and then asked if the singer lived there.

When Eilish’s father answered and told Rousseau that Eilish did not live there, he refused to leave the property and returned later that evening, displaying “erratic behaviour,” prompting concerns for the singer’s safety.

According to court documents at the time, Eilish said: “While we waited for security, Mr Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book, while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue. My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.”

After Rousseau visited the singer’s Los Angeles residence on seven separate occasions a judge granted Eilish a temporary restraining order, requiring him to stay at least 200 yards away from Eilish and her family, as well as cease all attempts to contact them.

The case was part of a broader pattern of harassment the singer has faced over the years. Eilish has since obtained multiple restraining orders against other individuals, later speaking openly about the emotional toll in an August 2021 interview with The Irish Times, saying: “I have people that want to do bad things to me,” adding: “I really don’t like to be alone… I have a lot of stalkers.”
