Scott Mills reportedly shared fears over when his career would end, weeks before he was fired from the BBC.
The Radio 2 presenter was sacked over historic allegations of sexual offences involving a teenage boy, according to The Mirror.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed an investigation into the allegations was opened in 2016, and a man was questioned under caution two years later. However the Crown Prosecution Service closed the case in May 2019 due to insufficient evidence. Mills has never been charged in relation to the allegations.

But, according to journalist Ed Gleave, the former Radio 1 star had fears his career could be about to go down the drain.
Speaking on GB News, Gleave said: “I interviewed him about six weeks ago at an event and we were talking about the different reality shows he’s doing and has done in the past.
“He said he takes every opportunity because he wants to make the most of his career, and he said, you just don’t know when it’s gonna end. When someone of his calibre says that you think, you’ll be fine.
“But obviously, six weeks later, his career looks to be pretty much over. So there’s a real irony that he had that in the back of his mind and then it actually come true, as it were.”
Mills hosted what would be his final Breakfast Show last Tuesday before being sacked over the weekend, according to The Mirror.
He is yet to comment on the allegations or his exit from the BBC.
