Subscription Terms and Conditions

By taking out a MyPinkNews subscription with us you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

Please read them carefully before you subscribe.

MyPinkNews Subscription Plans
Currently there are two Membership options available: Annual and Monthly (see FAQs for more information). Each Membership is valid for only one user account and may not be used with any other user accounts.

Becoming a MyPinkNews member
To become a MyPinkNews member please go here.
One you have selected your subscription option you will need to provide us with some personal information so that we can set up your Membership.

When you submit your registration details, this constitutes an offer to join MyPinkNews in a binding contract. We will send you a Confirmation of Membership Email at point of purchase. The term of your Membership will start on the date that you submit your registration. You will be able to access all the features of MyPinkNews straight away.

Term and auto renewal

Minimum Term: Your subscription will start on the date you submit your registration as noted on your Confirmation of Membership Email.
We will let you know what the minimum term is before you agree to purchase your Membership and again in your Confirmation of Membership Email.

Auto-renewal: Your Membership will automatically renew unless and until it is ended by you or us. We will send you an email 14 days before your Membership is due to automatically renew. You are not entitled to a refund if you decide you want to cancel the auto-renewal or change your membership option after your Membership has automatically renewed.

Price and payment

Price: The price of your Membership package (including VAT) is the price stated on the MyPinkNews website registration page when you join.
By signing up for a MyPinkNews Membership package, you authorise us to charge you a membership fee for the billing period at the then current rate to the payment account you provide when you join MyPinkNews. When we refer to “billing period”, we mean annual subscription.

Payment: Payment will be taken annually starting from the date of registration, unless or until your membership is cancelled in accordance with Section 5 (Cancellation of Membership).
Payments can be made by Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Paypal.

Cancellation of Membership (legal cooling off period)

You have a legal right to cancel your membership within 14 calendar days (Cancellation Period) of receiving your Confirmation of Membership Email without giving us a reason.
If you want to cancel, please let us know clearly and in writing to [email protected]. In your Cancellation Notice please include:

  • Your name and contact details
  • A clear statement that you would like to cancel
  • The date you received your Confirmation of Membership Email

You must send your Cancellation Notice before the Cancellation Period has expired.

If you cancel your membership within the Cancellation Period, we will reimburse all payments received from you. We will reimburse you no later than 30 days after we receive your Cancellation Notice. We can only use the same payment method that you used to purchase your subscription. We will not charge any fee for the cancellation reimbursement process.
Sometimes we may have to suspend membership to deal with technical problems or make minor technical changes.
Unless the reason for the suspension is urgent or in the case of an emergency, we will let you know in advance to tell you what’s happening and why
Abusive comments or hate speech will not be tolerated in written or spoken form and will be reported to the appropriate authorities. Should members engage in offensive language on article commenting (on the website or app) or during webinars and/or events, your ability to post comments or join live webinars will be permanently disabled. This will not affect your subscription, so you will continue to be charged unless you cancel your subscription.


Other than the circumstances outlined in Section 5 we are unable to offer you a refund.

Contribution Terms and Conditions

PinkNews Media Ltd. (PinkNews) would like to give it’s readers worldwide the opportunity to make a financial contribution to PinkNews and thereby help it on its mission to inform, inspire positive change and empower people to be themselves. We are committed to keeping our editorial content free of charge, so any contributions will be used to support our editorial operations so we can continue to report on the important stories that many other media outlets ignore and to speak out on behalf of the LGBT+ community.

These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between PinkNews and each contributor, including the terms on which a contribution may be accepted, refused, or returned by PinkNews. 

Contributions will be accepted in the form of a one-off payment made directly to PinkNews as described in these Terms and Conditions.


By making a contribution, a contributor agrees and acknowledges that:

The contribution is provided to PinkNews as an irrevocable gift, subject to any exercise of the contributor’s right to receive a refund as described below and PinkNews’ right to return any contribution at its discretion;

The contribution will be used by PinkNews to support its Editorial operations; and such contribution is made subject to these Terms and Conditions, which shall constitute a legally binding agreement between the contributor and PinkNews (the “Agreement”), entered into by each party in consideration of the other’s obligations under these Terms and Conditions.


You agree to pay your selected contribution amount on as a one-off payment basis.

You must provide us with complete and accurate payment information at the time you agree to make a contribution. Payment for your contribution can be made by credit or debit card.


Contributions will be accepted from individuals as well as any other legal entities.

Contributors who are individuals must be aged 18 or over.

The maximum aggregate contribution from one individual or company is £2,000/€2,000/$2,000 (two thousand pounds sterling, euros or US Dollars )


All contributions to PinkNews shall be made through the subscriptions page on or via the iOS or Android app. 

Basic information will be required to make a contribution including name, address, and payment details. Each contribution will be identifiable by a unique identification number and so are individually refundable, and will be accounted for separately by PinkNews.

From the moment the contribution is processed via our Payment Service (Piano), PinkNews will be legally and beneficially entitled to the full amount of the contribution and the contributor has no entitlement to the return of a contribution in any circumstances other than as specified in these Terms and Conditions.

The contributor shall receive no benefit of any monetary value in return for a contribution and shall have no rights to influence the editorial policy or output of PinkNews.

Contributions to PinkNews are not charitable contributions under the law of England & Wales and, as far as PinkNews is aware, contributors shall not be entitled to any tax relief in respect of their contributions nor are any contributions eligible for “gift aid” either in the United Kingdom or in any other jurisdiction worldwide.


PinkNews reserves the right to refuse and return any contribution in its absolute discretion, including without limitation where it believes that accepting the contribution would conflict with the mission, values or interests of PinkNews, and/or where, having regard to the source of the contribution or intentions of the contributor, PinkNews considers that to accept the contribution could damage the independence or reputation of PinkNews or adversely affect the relationship of PinkNews with other contributors or stakeholders.

Contributors shall be entitled to receive a refund of their contribution for up to 14 days after receipt of payment by notifying PinkNews by email at [email protected]. Any requests for a refund of a contribution received by PinkNews following expiry of the 14 day period will be ineligible.

Any refused and/or returned contributions shall be repaid into the account from which the contribution was made.

Cancellation requests will be confirmed within 48 hours.


PinkNews reserves the right to:

Request the full name and contact details of the contributor;

Request from the contributor any other information that it considers to be necessary or desirable to determine the provenance of the contribution;

Undertake any further investigations it deems fit to determine the provenance of the contribution.

If the contributor refuses to provide any information requested by PinkNews under clause 5, PinkNews may refuse and return the contribution to the contributor at its discretion.


Contributors shall not be entitled to publicise their contribution or otherwise market themselves or any connected person or business in connection with their contribution, except with the prior written consent of PinkNews and then only if the contributor complies with any relevant policies, procedures or requirements of PinkNews.

Neither PinkNews nor any affiliated person, employee, agent, officer or director shall be liable for any loss suffered by any contributor or other person arising out of or in connection with a contribution, whether direct or indirect, including loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business or anticipated savings, loss of use, loss of goodwill, loss of data, and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, except in respect of any liability for death or personal injury or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.


A failure of PinkNews to assert a right or provision under these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason, that provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions will continue in full force and effect.

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the contributor and PinkNews in respect of any contributions made by the contributor.

These Terms and Conditions are not intended to confer any contractual benefit on any person who is not party to them pursuant to the terms of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

The Agreement and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with it will be governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
