What does TERF mean? TERF stands for ‘trans exclusionary radical feminist’, otherwise known as a feminist who excludes the rights of transgender women from their advocacy of women’s rights. Many so-called ‘gender critical’ anti-trans activists have complained that the term is actually a slur. One common argument that these individuals repeat regularly is that trans women are a threat because they are really men and are only presenting as women to gain access to women’s spaces such as bathrooms, or to trick lesbians into having sex with them.
