“Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” hitmaker Lil Nas X has been admitted to hospital after experiencing sudden paralysis in his face.

Last night (14 April), the two-time Grammy Award-winning rapper shared a post with his near 11 million Instagram followers, revealing that he “lost control” of his face.

In the video post, Lil Nas X is seen lying down in a hospital bed wearing a patterned hospital gown and a pink and white Von Dutch cap.

“This is me doing a full smile right now by the way,” the 26-year-old says at the video’s start, before bursting into laughter. “It’s like… what the f**k. I can’t even laugh right. Oh my God, bro,” he cackles, pulling his hands up to his face.

He captioned the video: “Soooo lost control of the right side of my face,” alongside a weeping emoji.

In follow up posts shared on his Instagram Stories, the “DREAMBOY” performer is seen laughing to himself and holding the camera close to his face, highlighting the paralysis.

“We get crazy over here,” he giggles, adding in the overlaid text: “I’m so cooked.”

After fans voiced their concerns that he could be having “a stroke”, he shared: “Guys I am OK. Stop being sad for me. Shake ur ass for me instead.”

“Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it,” he added.

Lil Nas X is yet to confirm whether he knows what has caused the paralysis in his face.

Fans flooded his comment section with well wishes and positive vibes, while others voiced concern that the facial paralysis could be a symptom of Bell’s palsy.

Bell’s palsy is an idiopathic condition, which means that no cause is known. The NHS describes Bell’s palsy as “temporary weakness or lack of movement that usually affects one side of the face”

Steroids can help treat the condition with people feeling better after around six months.

Others questioned whether it may be Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare condition caused by shingles affecting nerves in the face. It can cause weakness in one side and hearing issues.

Ever the optimist, Lil Nas X is dealing with the health complication with positivity and humour, and that’s why fans love him.
