The rumoured cast list for the first series of the UK’s Celebrity Traitors includes a number of LGBTQ+ stars.

Among the names touted to be in show, which will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman, are Tom Daley, Stephen Fry, Clare Balding, singer Cat Burns and Alan Carr, according to a report in The Mirror on Tuesday (22 April).

The list has not been confirmed by the BBC or show producers Studio Lambert.

A BBC spokesperson told PinkNews: “The Traitors includes lies and deception, so it would be foolhardy for any Faithful to speculate before the game has begun.”

The Mirror’s report comes on the day filming began in Scotland, and a source said: “There will be a huge mix of personalities and ego sizes. Seeing how it all works out is going to be fascinating.

“The team making the show are expecting it to be quite different to the regular version because the celebrities will be less motivated by the prize fund but care far more about how they come across. It will be interesting to see how the gameplay compares, along with which tactics they employ.

Also said to be among the contestants are LGBTQ+ allies Charlotte Church and Paloma Faith, comedians Bob Mortimer, Joe Wilkinson and Lucy Beaumont, presenter Kate Garraway, talk show host Jonathan Ross, former rugby union star Joe Marler, actors Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, Ruth Codd, Tameka Empson and Celia Imrie, historian David Olusoga and YouTuber Niko Omilana.

Church, Carr and Mortimer have been mentioned before as possible contestants.
