Celebrity Big Brother: JoJo Siwa left unsettled by ‘cold’ message from partner Kath Ebbs

Celebrity Big Brother star JoJo Siwa was initially delighted to receive her first message from home for three weeks, when she received a letter from her mother Jessalynn, which also mentioned her partner Kath Ebbs.

All the housemates received letters from home ahead of the final on 25 April. However the 21-year-old former Dance Moms star, who is one of five finalists, was later seen worrying about the content of her message, telling Big Brother that she felt let down by what she saw as a lack of emotion from her other half.

The letter, read out by Siwa’s close friend in the house Chris Hughes (32) said: “The most important thing to tell you is a message from Kath because I know you really miss them the most. ‘Kath’s keen to see you when you get out’…”

“Where was my ‘I love you’?”

In the Diary Room, Siwa opened up about the letter, saying: “I think I’ve tried to keep myself distracted from missing sweet Kath. I said goodbye to them at the airport and it was a really hard goodbye. And then they were the last person I talked to before I gave up my phone for the Big Brother house. God, I love that little sucker. I do.”

“I do have beef to pick with them though,” she added. “They didn’t even say in the note that they love me. I will not let them live that down. I will say, ‘where was my ‘hi sweetheart’, where was my ‘I love you’ where was my ‘I miss you’?’. Like happy you’re keen to see me when I get out of here, keen to see you as well, but come on baba, give me a little something something.”

Fans immediately seized on the fact that Ebbs didn’t write “I love you,” deciding that it was “proof” that the non-binary 27-year-old influencer was unhappy with Siwa’s increasingly close bond with Hughes, which has proved controversial both inside and outside the Big Brother house.

They’ve been pictured cuddling in bed, scratching each others’ backs, holding hands and embracing, sparking speculation of a romance and leading to Ebbs to being trolled that she was being cheated on.

One fan took to social media to discuss how Kath Ebbs might feel about these scenes, writing: “Their POV tho, you are gone for three weeks, attached to Chris and cuddle so much in bed together and always so touchy etc. Never mention Kath etc. Expected them not to say any of that in the letter. They don’t know where you stand at all in their relationship with Chris.”

Other fans noted the message seemed “cold” and another added: “Is it just me or does Kath being ‘keen’ to see JoJo not sound good AT. ALL. that has such ‘we need to talk’ energy.”

Drag Race UK star Danny Beard, who is also good friends with JoJo Siwa in the house and is currently favourite to win the competition, recently commented on their bond, saying: “I know they’ve got a very special friendship but if my boyfriend saw me with anyone, regardless of gender like that, he’d have words.”

“I’ve realised I’m not a lesbian”

In Tuesday night’s episode (22 April), Siwa gave an update on her sexuality. It came after a triple eviction, with the housemates saying goodbye to Patsy Palmer, Angellica Bell and Ella Rae Wise.

Speaking to Danny Beard after the elimination, JoJo said: “I feel so queer. I’ve always told myself, I’m a lesbian [but ] being here I’ve realised I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

“I think that’s really cool, I’m switching letters. I’ve dropped the L and I’ve gone to the Q, baby! That’s what I love about sexuality.”
