The Traitors UK fans are having their say on which of the stars on the upcoming inaugural season of The Celebrity Traitors UK will fare the best and worst, and it’s good (and bad!) luck for the LGBTQ+ players.
The jam-packed line-up for The Celebrity Traitors UK may have only just been revealed, with the likes of comedian Alan Carr, TV host Jonathan Ross, and singer Charlotte Church confirmed to play, but eager fans of the award-winning game show already have an idea of who will perform the best and worst.
According to new data from leading market research company Ipsos, the future looks bright for gay actor and comedian Stephen Fry, with fans reckoning he is most likely to be in with a chance of winning the whole show.
Almost a fifth (16 per cent) of UK The Traitors fans who took part in the research feel that Fry is most well equipped to win the show’s celebrity version when it lands on BBC One this autumn.
It doesn’t matter whether host and fringe advocate Claudia Winkleman decides that the Blackadder star is a Traitor or a Faithful player, as viewers of the game show think he will be able to bluff his way to the win regardless.

More than one in ten (13 per cent) think Fry is likely to be the best Traitor hunter, while the same number think the actor will be the best contestant to be a Traitor themself.
Though it would be a win for queer The Traitors lovers if Stephen Fry did make it all the way to the end, there’s also a potential queer loss: Drag Race UK judge and comedian Alan Carr is predicted to perform the worst on The Celebrity Traitors UK.
A sizeable one fifth (18 per cent) of The Traitors fans think Carr will likely struggle with playing the game, possibly due to his ability to find the funny in everything.
On The Traitors, a game face and serious investigative skills are required, neither of which appear to be Carr’s strong suit.

That said, there is a silver lining for Carr, as he is simultaneously the second most likely celebrity to win the game, according to the Ipsos data.
TV hosts Kate Garraway and Jonathan Ross are third and fourth most likely to win, followed in fifth by another LGBTQ+ contestant: former Olympic diver Tom Daley, who is also on the confirmed cast list.
There is also hope that Tom Daley could be selected as a Traitor, with one in ten of the show’s fans suggesting that the five-time Olympic medalist will perform best in the role.
Lesbian TV commentator Clare Balding is ninth out of 19 stars on the same list, while it’s looking bad for queer singer Cat Burns, who is 18th most likely to win.

Balding could be wiped out early on in the show though, as according to one in ten viewers of the adored game show, the BBC Sport host is perceived as being the very best potential Traitor hunter. The Traitors, whoever they end up being, will likely be gunning for her then.
Other celebrities joining the line-up for The Celebrity Traitors UK are actors Tameka Empson, Ruth Codd, Nick Mohammed, Mark Bonnar and Celia Imrie, comedians Joe Wilkinson and Lucy Beaumont, singer Paloma Faith, content creator Niko Omilana, former rugby player Joe Marler, and historian David Olusoga.
The nine-part series will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn, with the celebrities playing for a £100,000 prize to donate to their chosen charity.
