No, there’s no evidence that adult star Bonnie Blue is trans – it’s yet another hoax

Bonnie Blue is certainly no stranger to making headlines. The porn star has regularly appeared in the tabloids due to her controversial (and ambitious) sex stunts. However, current reports that she’s actually trans are false.

According to Google Trends data, searches for “Bonnie Blue trans” first started to emerge in December 2024, but have skyrocketed since mid-June. This coincides with a post shared on X, which went viral on 14 June and claims that Bonnie Blue used to go by the name “Kyle Butler” and is, in fact, a transgender woman.

The viral post reached over 300,000 people, many of whom believed the information despite the fact that some of it was presented in the form of what can only be described as a very badly-photoshopped fake Wikipedia page, with text that reads: “Kyle Butler (born May 1985), known professionally as Bonnie Blue, is an English pornographic actress and OnlyFans creator.

“After diversifying into producing content with students and married men, she made several appearances on podcasts in 2024 which generated several weeks of backlash on Twitter.”

It’s worth noting at this point that Twitter was officially renamed to X on July 23, 2023.

The fake Wikipedia entry continues: “In January 2025, Blue claimed to have had sex with 1057 men in one day. She has spoken about her sex change at 13 briefly in a small podcast in 2022 which was later taken down by blues requests.”

It has never been possible to have gender affirming surgery in the UK at the age of 13. These interventions (such as chest masculinisation or genital reconstruction) have extremely strict age requirements in the UK and are not available to patients under the age of 18.

Also, the photo of “Kyle Butler” shows a young adult, not a 13 year old boy.

Despite the obvious factual and grammatical errors, many people were taken in by the hoax post about Bonnie Blue, who was born Tia Billinger in 1999.

One person wrote: “Wonder what the black box warnings are on his hormones drugs.. This female appropriation has gotten out of control.” Another added: “She blew up out of no where as well, she’s 100% bio male.”

Some of the confusion about Bonnie Blue’s gender identity might also have arisen from tabloid coverage of another OnlyFans star, called Kay Manuel, who was dubbed the “Australian Bonnie Blue” by the Daily Mail after she bragged about sleeping with 75 high school leavers in 48 hours. Unlike Bonnie Blue, Kay Manuel is trans.

Bonnie Blue isn’t the only female public figure to have faced similar false rumours. Over the years, first lady of France, Brigitte Macron, has had to regularly deny claims that she is trans.

In 2021, Brigitte Macron took legal action against two women – anti-vaxxer medium Amandine Roy and journalist Natacha Rey – who perpetuated the rumours that she’s trans and did not give birth to her children.

In short, as usual, don’t believe everything you see on the internet, especially if it’s about transgender people.
