RuPaul’s Drag Race star Violet Chachki brought up her season seven sisters Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova during a recent appearace, describing them as “weird”.
Trixie and Katya announced recently on their podcast, The Bald and the Beautiful, that they would be doing a “ru-watch” of season seven – won by Violet – to provide a “fresh” insider take.
The pair wanted to touch on what they remembered about each episode and to hear from the other queens who appeared with them. Responding on her podcast, No Gorge, which she hosts with Gottmik, Violet revealed that Trixie and Katya’s assistant had been in contact.
Midway through being asked about Drag Race and “catching strays” from the current season of All Stars, Violet said: “[Trixie and Katya] were so weird. They had their assistant send me a DM asking if I would send them a voice [note].
“It was like, ‘What the f*ck?’ You guys, call me. You have my f*cking phone.
“Having your assistant reach out when you’re friends with somebody is so like… ‘who do you think you are, girl?’ Text me!”

Despite Gottmik saying “they do it all the time”, Violet added: “I would never have my assistant or producer reach out to someone I consider a friend. It’s so weird.”
Violet went on to bemoan how she can’t “escape” Drag Race: her barber had asked her about All Stars during her latest appointment. She and Gottmik also discussed what Pride month was like for them, given that they work constantly.
In April, Violet described season 17 of the show as “garbage” which didn’t go down well with contestant Lexi Love.
Violet also wasn’t afraid to say that “there are maybe too many drag queens”, although she did go on to celebrate increased queer visibility, saying: “If people can get pleasure, enjoyment, escapism, therapy, confidence… these are all tools that can help you navigate life.”
