The Devil Wears Prada 2 adding more star power to its cast, including Bridgerton breakout star Simone Ashley, Charlie’s Angels icon Lucy Liu and more? Groundbreaking.

Following the first tantalising teaser and major announcement that the sequel to 2006’s iconic The Devil Wears Prada is now “in production”, the long-awaited follow-up has added some serious firepower to its already star-studded cast.

We know what you’re thinking: ‘How can a sequel outdo its first offering, which boasted Meryl Streep as icy fashion editor Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt as her assistant Emily, Stanley Tucci as the only person who came to work today and Anne Hathaway as industry newbie Andi?’

Well, we’ll tell you – not only by having all four aforementioned stars return, but adding more titans to the runway.

As reported by Deadline, Bridgerton breakout star Simone Ashley has joined The Devil Wears Prada 2 in an undisclosed role; she joins previously reported newcomer to the film Kenneth Branagh. Ashley is best known for starring opposite Jonathan Bailey as Lady Kathani ‘Kate’ Bridgerton (né Sharma) in the second season of the Netflix smash.

But that’s not all.

Vanity Fair reports that original Charlie’s Angels icon Lucy Liu, and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle baddie Justin Theroux will also join the fray, alongside B.J. Novak (The Office) and Pauline Chalamet (The Sex Lives of College Girls).

Oh, Mary! Broadway star Conrad Ricamora and fellow Broadway performer Helen J. Shen will also be pumping the runway.

Let’s hope they can all tell the difference between cerulean and turquoise.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is widely reported to follow the sharp decline of the fashion magazine industry, with Miranda (Streep) struggling to keep Runway afloat. Her old assistant, Emily (Blunt), is now a hotshot in fashion executive circles, with more power than Miranda is used to.

In May this year, it was reported that the sequel was aiming for a May 2026 release date. It will be directed by David Frankel, who helmed the original.

That’s all.
