Former Olympic diver Tom Daley has launched a new swimwear range with Adidas, and it’s already creating a splash on social media.
Five-time Olympic medal winner Daley, who came out publicly in 2013 and married husband Dustin Lance-Black in 2017, took to Instagram on Tuesday (15 July) to share his collaboration with Adidas.
The caption, written by Adidas, reads: “Serving dives and swimwear! Introducing the new adidas x @tomdaley swim collection.”
A series of images shows Daley modelling a pair of retro-looking swim trunks. In the first image, he shows off his fit physique in a pose that mimics getting out of a pool, while another image captures him diving in the trunks.
The trunks worn by Daley retail for £30 on Adidas’ website and come in two colourways. They have so far received two five-star reviews, with one buyer commenting, “Nice material…good fit. nice design. I like the idea these were by a ‘guest designer’ and who better to design trunks…than Tom.”
Comments under the Instagram post unite in excitement at the collaboration.
One person wrote, “OBSESSEDDDDD,” while another commented: “Always cut, your new collab is great.”
But US fans were left disappointed as the collaboration isn’t available there, leading many to call for the briefs to be brought over.

In June, Daley revealed that he is “often” contacted by closeted queer athletes who “don’t know what to do” about coming out.
The recently retired Olympian has also been open about his struggle with an eating disorder and the “shame” he felt after being told to hide being gay.
Daley opened up about his hardships in new feature documentary Tom Daley: 1.6 seconds.
He says in the documentary: “I remember organising a party and telling my management he [Dustin Lance Black] was coming. They [his management team] said to ‘be careful being photographed with Lance, he is a big LGBT activist. You don’t want people thinking you are gay’.
Daley continued: “I was suddenly filled with shame. We had all sorts of crisis meetings. You’re gonna lose all your sponsorship. You’re gonna lose all your fans.
“Like, how are you ever gonna be able to compete in the Middle East, in Russia, in all of these countries? Filling me with fear about what I should and shouldn’t do.”
