WNBA game interrupted by flying green sex toy: ‘This game sure is a stiff one’

A flying green sex toy made a courtside appearance at a Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) game (yes, really). The interruptive adult toy has understandably now become the subject of non-stop memes.
During a Tuesday (29 July) deadlocked 75-75 game between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream, the last minute on the clock was paused after a fan appeared to throw a neon green dildo onto the court.
The referee blew the whistle to pause the game after the adult toy made an uninvited appearance, as a police officer identified the object and swiftly removed it from the court so the game could continue.
And the moment where the officer walks away, dildo in hand (wrapped in a tissue, of course), might just be the most embarrassing walk of shame we’ve ever witnessed.
The viral moment made an already very LGBTQ+-friendly sport even more sapphic. The incident and hilarious commentary were caught on video and shared on social media, to the delight of the internet.

“Nobody’s picked the object up yet, and – oh my gosh,” said the commentator, as the video zoomed in on the now obvious item. “Okay, okay. Inappropriate. Get them out of here, whoever it is.”
“This game… Sure is a stiff one,” one X user hilariously wrote, while another commented: “Looks like a new tradition is born.”
“I wish I was mature enough to not find this hilarious,” another added. “Just another day in the WNBA,” wrote a fourth.
Speaking about the incident, Valkyries forward Cecilia Zandalasini said at the post-game news conference, as per The Athletic: “I mean, first of all, it was super dangerous. And then when we found out what it was, I guess we just started laughing.
“I’ve never seen anything like that. I’m just glad we worked through that situation. We stayed locked in, we stayed concentrated.”
It turns out that the bright green dildo might be the Valkyries’ lucky charm, who won the game 77-75.
