Director Tim Burton wants to work with “inspirational” Lady Gaga again, and we’re desperate to see it happen.

The Wednesday director and executive producer collaborated with the “Abracadabra” singer in season two of the Netflix horror comedy. The iconic singer-come-actress portrays Rosaline Rotwood in season two of Wednesday, a “legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday”.

Gaga, who is currently on her Mayhem Ball Tour, joins a series of new faces in the second season. Also joining season two are Steve Buscemi as the new Nevermore principal, Barry Dort, and Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley, who plays Wednesday’s grandmother, and Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, the head of the music department.

Speaking to Variety about Gaga’s contribution to the series, Burton said, “She’s such an artist, and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational. But I felt that way about Joanna and Steve, whom I’ve worked with before.

“These people come on this set, [and] you see the whole crew kind of light up. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.”

At the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy last week, Burton hinted that there may be more from the pair where that came from. “I’ve done something else with her,” he said at the time.

The outlet also asked whether he could reveal more details or confirm whether they’re working together again. To this, he said: “No, I can’t. But I hope so.”

Season two, set for release on 6 August, is set to see the titular character (Jenna Ortega) returning to Nevermore, where she must solve another mystery. And this time, Wednesday’s friend and roommate, Enid (Emma Myers), is at the centre of it.

As well as the series stars Ortega and Myers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez are all returning as Morticia, Gomez and Pugsley, respectively. Hunter Doohan is also set to return as Tyler/Hyde.
