Drag Race UK finalist and Strictly Come Dancing 2024 Christmas special star Tayce has seemingly responded after not being announced for the 2025 cast of the BBC show.
Tayce first graced our screens in the second season of Drag Race UK, in 2021 – and quickly sashayed into the hearts of the nation.
Then, in 2024, Tayce made herstory by becoming the first drag queen to compete on Strictly Come Dancing‘s Christmas special. She mopped the floor with the competition alongside professional partner Kai Widdrington, was awarded maximum points from all four judges and took the festive Glitterball home.
That victory, many fans hoped, would lead Tayce onto a full-length series of Strictly Come Dancing.
And even though only four of the celebrity contestants have thus far been revealed for Strictly Come Dancing 2025, Tayce has seemingly responded to not (yet) being announced.
“Guess I was too much,” Tayce wrote on X, alongside a disco ball emoji, leading fans of the star to the conclusion that she wouldn’t be returning to the dance floor for Strictly Come Dancing.

“You’d have wiped the floor with them,” wrote Tayce’s fellow Drag Race UK runner up, Bimini.
“Nooo girl I was praying you would be on this year! They just couldn’t handle a diva I guess,” another fan wrote.

But some fans have claimed that Tayce’s comment was meant to mislead them, and the Welsh dragon will in fact be part of the cast; “That’s that confirmed then,” one wrote.
Another claimed: “She’s trying to throw us off the scent that she isn’t doing strictly this year …after legit winning the Christmas special back in December. She’s definitely on.”
Thus far, Gladiator star Harry Aikines–Aryeetey, Love Island‘s Dani Dyer, Doctor Who star Alex Kingston and football legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink have been announced for the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 cast.
The first cast member was announced 11 August, and a full Strictly cast usually includes 15 celebrities.
In a BBC interview before the 2024 Christmas special, Tayce said: “It’s such an honour cto be part of this amazing and highly popular show, pushing the envelope and breaking boundaries as the first drag queen to appear on it.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive, though there’s also been some negativity from trolls, but that’s nothing I can’t handle.”
