KJ Apa’s new film The Map That Leads to You features a nude scene of his bum: ‘It’s hairy too’

KJ Apa has dished on his upcoming flick The Map That Leads to You – and employed the ultimate marketing technique by revealing that he has a nude scene in the film.
The Map That Leads to You is an upcoming romantic drama film featuring Riverdale star KJ Apa opposite Madelyn Cline (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), based on the novel of the same name by J.P. Monninger.
It follows Cline as Heather Mulgrew, who meets a handsome stranger (Apa) while holidaying in Europe, and (shockingly) falls in love – though it’s never that simple.
And if that synopsis hasn’t sold you on The Map That Leads to You, maybe this will; KJ Apa has a nude scene in the film, in which he gets his ass out.
Speaking to Real Housewives magnate Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live, Apa confirmed that you can see his bum during a shower scene.
“You can very clearly see KJ’s ass in the movie,” Cohen said during the 14 August broadcast.
Laughing, Apa replied: “Yeah, yeah, you can. It’s hairy, too. I was thinking about this. Do I shave my ass?
“I didn’t know that day that I was going to be showing my ass. Had I known, maybe I would’ve shaved it.”
“They didn’t say: ‘Hey, by the way, tomorrow’s your ass shot, you better be doing those squats?'” Cohen asked, to which Apa replied that him getting his bum out was originally unplanned.
“Because originally [Madelyn] was meant to be naked in the shower, and then something happened that day, and then I said I’ll do it,” the Kiwi star explained.
And we’re so glad he did.
Apa did also have a soapy shower scene in Songbird (2020), but – and we mean this as a result of the most journalistic research – it seems he shaved that day.
When will KJ Apa’s The Map That Leads to You be released?
The Map That Leads to You, KJ Apa nude scene and all, will be available 20 August on Prime Video.
The film, directed by Lasse Hallström, will also star Sofia Wylie, Madison Thompson, Orlando Norman, Josh Lucas and Eva García Montiel.
