People are going crazy for Orville Peck’s latest Instagram post, which includes a video of him training (we think) for the Street Fighter movie.

The country singer was announced as part of the cast of the upcoming film in June when he was starring in Cabaret on Broadway.

At the time it was speculated would be playing the villainous Vega. He is one of the highest-ranking minions of Street Fighter‘s main antagonist, M Bison.

The character, like Peck, wears a mask and (unlike Peck) wields a metal claw. Deadline confirmed at the beginning of September that Peck is playing Vega.

On Instagram on Wednesday (24 September) Peck posted a series of photos. Some showed him on the Street Fighter movie set with co-stars Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, and Callina Liang.

Peck also included one gym selfie showing him sat down at a piece of equipment looking particularly buff. The biceps and thighs are enough to get anyone going!

The Pony creator also included a short clip of him wearing little while performing a roundhouse kick against a pad being held by a lucky volunteer. The sound of his foot hitting the pad is loud and the speed and strength on show is similarly impressive.

It’s this clip that appears to have caught people’s fascination. “Why is the last one 6 hours long?” someone asked in the comments. “That kick though,” someone else put adding a fire emoji. Meanwhile, someone else wrote, “Round house kick my head pls.” That last one has 188 likes at the time of writing with several people replying they wanted the same treatment. “I’ll get in line,” one person said. Each to their own…

News about the upcoming Street Fighter movie is hard to come by at this point, though it’s evident filming is underway.

As reported by Deadline, a synopsis for the film reads, “Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Koji) and Ken Masters (Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”

The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and is aiming to be released on 16 October 2026. Also in the cast are Jason Momoa, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Hirooki Goto, Rayna Vallandingham, Olivier Richters, Mel Jarnson, and Eric André will also feature. Vidyut Jammwal, David Dastmalchian, and Andrew Schulz round out the cast.

The live-action film is based on the popular arcade game in which players face off in one-on-one battles. The games feature various martial artists who compete against one another, each with a set of special moves.
