Jennifer Lawrence has nailed her colours to the mast and proudly declared her membership of Team Jeremiah. And she’s expressed some strong views that are sure to make Team Conrad fans fume.
For the uninitiated this all relates to the Prime Video series, The Summer I Turned Pretty. Based on Jenny Han’s novels of the same name, the series followed Isabel ‘Belly’ Conkin (Lola Tung) as she navigated a love triangle with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) Fisher.
Season three recently came to an end, with a feature-length finale film set to wrap-up the story for good.

Speaking in an interview to promote her upcoming film, Die My Love, alongside Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson Lawrence came out with, “I have been ordered by all of my friends not to reveal this – I’m Team Jeremiah, I am.”
The mention of ‘Team’ followed by a name beginning with ‘J’ seems to have triggered Pattinson. The actor had to contend with his own version of this, the ‘Team Edward’ v ‘Team Jacob’ war of the Twilight fandom, in the past.
“I think that Conrad is toxic,” Lawrence went on to say. “He kind of liked [Belly] but then he didn’t and he left her hanging. And then for him to confess his love for her the night before her wedding is sick.”
Pattinson seemed too stunned to speak barely managing to get the words, “I keep intending to watch the show” out. Lawrence then repeats. “I’m Team Jeremiah. Rake me over the coals.”
At the start of season three, Prime Video had to issue warnings and reminders for how people should behave online. It followed fans lashing out over the prospect that Belly might end up with Jeremiah. It reached such a level during the season’s run that Prime Video reissued those warnings.
Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty were divided over the series’ finale. Many gushed over Belly and Conrad’s happy ending (clearly not J-Law) while others complained that the finale felt “rushed.”

However, members of Team Jeremiah, Team Conrad, and any other fans not willing to pick a side should be happy at the announcement that a feature film is in the works to properly wrap up the series’ storylines.
The film was announced at a red carpet event for the series finale held in Paris on Wednesday (17 September) Han will direct the film as well as co-write it with Sarah Kucserka. Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps for the time being. A release date has also not been mentioned.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey,” said Han. “And I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
The Summer I Turned Pretty is available on Prime Video.
