Billionaire X boss Elon Musk has slammed other TV shows for including trans representation after he canceled his Netflix account due to right-wing backlash to Dead End: Paranormal Park.
On 30 September, Musk took to his own platform to announce he had ended his Netflix subscription. His decision came off the back of right-wing backlash to Hamish Steele‘s Netflix animation Dead End: Paranormal Park having trans representation, with infamous figures like Libs of TikTok and Gays Against Groomers sharing video clips from the show and claiming it “pushes trans ideology”. The series hasn’t aired since 2022.
The self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist” has now taken to slamming other TV shows for trans inclusion, while continuing to urge his 227 million followers on X to cancel their Netflix subscriptions over claims of the platform “sexualising children” and pushing alleged “transgender propaganda”.
Most recently, anti-LGBTQ+ activists took aim at a non-binary child character in a new Netflix cartoon. NME reports that the notorious ‘Libs of TikTok’ account claimed that the cartoon, Transformers Earthspeak, was “pushing a woke gender identity propaganda”.
The account shared a clip from the show of a young non-binary child telling a robot about people who “aren’t female or male”. The robot replies to the child, “what a wonderful word for a wonderful experience.”
In the same episode, Optimus Prime – the leader of the Autobots – also apologises for referring to another character with the wrong pronouns.

Alongside Paranormal Park, Musk has hit out at CoComelon and The Baby-Sitters Club for on-screen trans-inclusion. He has also supported claims of an alleged anti-white hiring bias by Netflix, and criticised Democratic Party donations by company execs.

On 1 October, Musk reposted a post about CoComelon featuring interracial gay dads who the user claimed are “attempting to raise a baby as transgender who make the toddler dance for them in drag”.

In 2023, homophobes raged and called for a boycott of CoComelon because the animation features gay dads and a boy wearing a tutu and a tiara.
Right-wingers previously attempted to boycott Netflix following backlash over the 2020 French film Cuties. The film featured underage actresses performing sexualised dance routines and depicted them in sexual situations. It is no longer available on Netflix after its licensing agreement expired.
Musk has been on a mission to eradicate anything he deems “woke,” a trajectory that has estranged him from his trans daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, whom he claimed was “murdered” by the “woke mind virus.”
Following backlash to Paranormal Park, trans voice actor for protagonist Barney, Zach Barack, spoke out, sharing that his character has “saved lives”.
