Beloved chat show The Graham Norton Show has been renewed for three more years – meaning it will reach its 20th anniversary on the BBC.
Where else could you get Taylor Swift, Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Domhnall Gleeson and Lewis Capaldi all on one sofa other than the national-treasure-in-chat-show-form, The Graham Norton Show?
Well, praise be to the TV gods, because the show, fronted by the Drag Race UK judge, has been renewed for three more years, according to Deadline.
Under an agreement with So Television reported by the publication, the chat show will remain on BBC1 and iPlayer. So Television is that ITV Studios-backed production company founded by Norton and Graham Stuart.
Financial details have not been disclosed.
The show began on BBC Two in 2007, before it moved to BBC One in late 2009; it will reach its twentieth anniversary in 2027 after two decades on the network.
According to Deadline, The Graham Norton Show averaged 2.9 millon viewers per episode during season 32. It has won multiple BAFTAs.
The show recently premiered its 33rd season with a sofa featuring Taylor Swift celebrating the release of twelfth studio album The Life of a Showgirl.
Upcoming guests include Julia Roberts, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Lawrence and Tessa Thompson.
Graham Norton is currently guest-judging the seventh season of Drag Race UK, alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Norton’s rotating counterpart, The Traitors star Alan Carr.
Twelve glamazons are competing to succeed season six’s winner Kyran Thrax, with one queen having already hit the house after a past-season-themed design challenge.
Speaking to PinkNews, the eliminated queen shared the “very emotional moment” that didn’t get aired, teasing that she had a minor Werk Room breakdown that never made it to air.
Drag Race UK season seven continues on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer every Thursday.
The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One on Friday evenings.
