Heartstopper star Kit Connor has joined the cast of Andrew Haigh‘s new film, A Long Winter.
The 21-year-old will reunite with his Warfare co-star D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as well as Gladiator II‘s Fred Hechinger in the latest film from the All of Us Strangers creator.
Deadline posted the news on Wednesday (22 October) stating that Connor’s role in the film is unknown. It also reports that the plot details are still TBC but understands A Long Winter will follow Louise, “the alcoholic mother of Mike (Hechinger) and Tommy, who takes off after a quarrel with her husband Lester – walking with her dog to the home of her brother Frank, quite a few miles away.

“When a snowstorm blows up suddenly and socks in the entire area, Lester and Mike begin a search that soon expands with the aid of local neighbors and law enforcement.”
Deadline also reports that Haigh, who has written the script, will direct.
Connor rose to international fame playing bisexual rugby player and student Nick Nelson in Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper, adapted for Netflix in 2022. Heartstopper is confirmed to end with a feature-length film, Heartstopper Forever.
Previously Alice Oseman, the Heartstopper creator, has said the film will focus on Nick and Charlie (Joe Locke), as late-teens, navigating “hurtling towards their adult lives”, indicating some more grown up content.

Since Heartstopper Conno’s also performed on Broadway in Romeo + Juliet and starred in Warfare.
He’s booked and busy at the moment. As well as Heartstopper Forever the young actor’s been cast in the live-action adaptation of the Elden Ring video game. He’s also due to star in the zombie flock, Rapture, as well as One of Us and A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow.
