Halloween is very nearly here and we might have to declare the race to find this year’s most iconic ‘sexy [insert costume name here]’ over as everyone seems to have reached a consensus that it’s someone dressed as at the Duolingo owl.
Yes, the annual event of seeing what creative ways people have for pretending they’re not just topless with booty shorts (maybe a harness if they’re feeling spicy) has already been won. Sorry to everyone else!
The sexy Duolingo owl costume belongs to Dima or @dima.is.fit, a computer science student at The University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

The costume consisting of green shorts, green paint and a fluffy Duolingo owl mask debuted on social media on 26 October when @elbasuu, dressed in black with skeleton face paint, shared a video of themselves and Dima doing a TikTok dance.
Duolingo took notice commenting, “yeah i’ve been working out” with many others posting thirsty comments. A day later Dima began posting videos on TikTok, the first showing themselves before and after getting into costume.
The others show Dima and Elbasuu walking around West Hollywood. Dima also shared the same video as Elbasuu of the two dancing clarifying in the caption: “Was my idea btw.”

Someone also shared images of Dima on X/Twitter writing alongside them, “Sentí cositas de DUOLINGO.” That translates to “I felt something from Duolingo.” It’s just one of many posts and comments from people thirsting after the individual there too.
Some users shared the same image of Charli XCX taken from a Saturday Night Live sketch where the “Sympathy is a Knife” singer has green paint around her mouth indicating how they would look after meeting Dima.
