Fans go wild for Janelle Monáe’s latest hilarious and bizarre Halloween costume: ‘She ate with it’

Fans are going wild for Janelle Monáe’s latest insane Halloween costume, and it’s easy to see why. 

The “Lipstick Lover” singer, who is known to be a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, having come out as non-binary in 2022, has aced Halloween this year showing up on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday (29 October) as Mike Myers’ 2003 live-action version of Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat. 

Monáe showed off her iconic costume, that looked remarkably similar to the 2003 movie version, during her Jennifer Hudson Show walk out.

The singer brought the character to life by doing the entire interview as the mischievous cat. 

Hudson attempted to ask “The Cat in the Hat” about the costume, to which Monáe responded, “What costume? I decided to come as me!” 

The host then put on a cape in order to keep up with the dress-up excellence. She then showed a photo of Monáe’s costume last year: E.T.  Monáe replied in her version of the cat’s voice: “Listen, Janelle Monáe is the host. We don’t get to come here unless Janelle gives us her body!”

Fans have gone wild for Monáe’s latest Halloween slay. One person captioned a clip of their walkout, “I forgot about halloween and thought JM was doing this just because and it didn’t seem out of character at all lol.”

“She ate with it though,” another comment read, while someone else wrote, “I’m hollering this is really her 365 days.”

“I wonder if she watched the movie cause honestly those dance moves for the most of what I remember really seem like something the cat would do,” another user commented

A different clip of the walkout also featured fans praising the “I Like That” singer for being one of a kind.

“Iconic, she always understands the assignment,” one person commented. another agreed, “She understood the assignment and then some.” 

“Only Janelle could turn Dr. Seuss into high fashion,” a fan wrote, while another quipped, “Heidi she’s coming for your crown,” referencing the “queen of Halloween” herself,  Heidi Klum – a comparison many fans made in response to her flawless effort.
