Twilight star Kristen Stewart has shared a rare, emotional insight into her marriage to her wife, Dylan Meyer.

This year, the pair, who got engaged in 2021, tied the knot during an intimate wedding ceremony at their home in Los Angeles on 20 April.

In an interview with Esquire dated 9 December, Stewart made some comments about what she’s discovered since tying the knot.

‘It’s so nice to have a family’

Answering what she’s learned from married life, she responded, “power in numbers”.

Stewart continued: “It’s so nice to have a family. It’s so nice to not be an unmoored individual. Dylan came into my life and I immediately was like, ‘It’s so important to handpick and curate the people that surround you.’ Dylan just does not suffer fools. I may not always seem like it, but I really am kind of a ‘nice guy’.

“It’s just bolstering to be with someone that reminds you that your life is in your hands.”

The pair met on a film set in 2013 and reconnected a few years later. They began dating in 2019, and just a few weeks into their romantic relationship, Stewart told her wife-to-be that she loved her.

“The first time I told her that, we were sitting in this bar,” she told The Howard Stern Show in November 2021.

In announcing their engagement on the show, she said: “We’re marrying. I wanted to be proposed to, so I very distinctly carved out what I wanted, and she nailed it. It’s happening.”

“Happy birthday to my favourite person to do nothing, and everything, with,” the 38-year-old wrote on Instagram. The post featured pictures of the 35-year-old Love Lies Bleeding star cuddling their pet cat, as well as images of the couple looking very loved-up.
