Iconic Drag Race star Blu Hydrangea is set to star on the Christmas 2025 edition of The Weakest Link, but ahead of it airing, here’s everything you need to know about the star, including if they have a boyfriend.

Known as one of the original Drag Race UK stars, Blu Hydrangea has since made a name for herself in the entertainment world. Blu Hydrangea’s pronouns in drag are she/they, and out of drag: he/they.

On The Weakest Link Christmas Special, Hydrangea will be competing to win up to £50,000 for their chosen charity. The show will follow the usual format of general knowledge questions, with a prize pool built through a chain of correct answers.

Romesh Ranganathan is hosting the show. Also, Blu Hydrangea will be joined by Lou Sanders, Martine McCutcheon, David O’Doherty, Ade Adepitan, Ross King, Jess Wright and Eddie Kadi.

What is Blu Hydrangea’s real name out of drag?

Blu Hydrangea is the stage name of Joshua Cargill.

Cargill is 29 years old and from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Does Blu Hydrangea have a husband or boyfriend?

Blu Hydrangea has been in a long-term relationship with Johnson Orr since 2014.

Last year, Hydrangea made an anniversary post celebrating 10 years with Orr.

The pair got engaged in December 2023.

“I said YES! Got the house keys and engaged all in one day,” Hydrangea shared about their engagement and also their new house.

“Thank you all so much for the kind words about the house and our engagement. Every message and comment made me feel all of the emotions over again.”

**What series of Drag Race UK was Blu Hydrangea on?**

Hydrangea appeared in the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019. They finished in fifth place after losing a lip sync battle to Cheryl Hole.

But that wasn’t enough for Hydrangea. She returned to the Drag Race universe as a contestant on the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World.

Hydrangea was crowned the winner of the series. In doing so, she became the first Northern Irish queen to win across the franchise.

What has Blu Hydrangea **done outside of Drag Race?**

Alongside her Drag Race accolades, Hydrangea has also spread her wings.

She is always posting original and exciting makeup looks on her socials. Also, she’s part of the Frock Destroyers group, alongside Baga Chipz and Divina de Campo).

In 2024, Hydrangea competed on the Irish version of Dancing with the Stars. She was partnered with dancer Simone Arena and finished as the runner-up on the show.

Though she may not have won, Hydrangea broke records on the show. She received the most perfect scores in any series, with 5, and the most 10s of any contestant, matched with actor Aoibhín Garrihy and politician Nina Carberry.
