A gay couple has gone viral after sharing how they chose to pay tribute to each other on their wedding day.

The couple took to TikTok to post a video of themselves committing to one another moments before their wedding ceremony.

Set to the music of Kim Petras’ “Alone”, the pair shared the moment that they deleted Grindr from their phones. They sealed the gesture with a high five.

The end of the video showed them dressed in cream suits and embracing each other in a hug as white petals fell around them.

Some praised the couple for choosing to delete Grindr, but many questioned why they were only just deleting the app.

“The concept you and your partner, deleting Grindr together the day of your wedding,” one person captioned a report of the video. The comment has received more than 80,000 likes, with the person adding, “Only to reinstall it that night, saying looking for a third”.

“Gay marriage is uninstalling Grindr on both your phones but making a shared couple account,” another person joked.

“Uninstall, but not an account deletion,” another comment read.

Monogamy refers to a relationship in which both individuals are exclusively sexually, romantically and emotionally involved with the other.

A survey published in 2024 found that there are many things couples can do to achieve greater sexual satisfaction in monogamous relationships, such as hand-holding, hugging, kissing and cuddling.

Although the happy couple have seemingly chosen monogamy, everyone is different. RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage previously spilled the tea on her open marriage with her husband David Case.

Visage shared that having an open relationship with her husband David Case, whom she married in 1997, makes their marriage “stronger”.

A polyamorous dater previously spoke to PinkNews about the stigma, misconceptions and reality of being in polyamorous relationships, which means, simply, having open sexual or romantic relationships with more than one person at a time.
