Fans of The Traitors think the future could be particularly bright for Stephen Libby, who it would appear has a famous friend.
Stephen, 32, is one of the remaining two Traitors alongside 42-year-old Rachel. The pair, despite both coming up against some heat, have managed to fool the other Faithful that they are one of them… for now, at least.
Since the show started airing, fans have repeatedly taken to social media to praise Stephen’s stylish outfits (of which there have been many) as well as his hilarious reaction shots to drama that has arisen.
Fans are now speculating about his future after the show due to a connection to comedian Lou Sanders.
It started with a video of Stephen hosting a watch party for the first episode of the new season. Stephen could be seen with his partner, Daniel Quirke, and his family. The group cheered as he’s revealed to be a Traitor.
Joining them was also Sanders who won the eighth series of taskmaster. Sanders has also appeared on Last One Laughing UK, Live at the Apollo, and Would I Lie To You?
Seeing Sanders with Stephen, fans enquired what the connection was. “She’s probably his landlord,” posed one viewer on a TikTok of the watch party when someone asked. Meanwhile someone else suggested she was actually Jack’s – one of the remaining Faithful – landlord.
“This is so exciting for me,” wrote someone else at the connection.
Elsewhere on social media, someone also said Sanders was Stephen’s landlord and suggested she could “help him launch a career”. However, Quirke shot this down clarifying Sanders is “just a friend of ours”.
Reacting to Stephen’s and Sanders’ connection someone wrote on X/Twitter it “raises questions about how ‘normal’ the contestants are and the selection process”.
Though, so far, no other contestants on non-celebrity versions of The Traitors in the UK has had a celebrity link.
The Traitors continues on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Wednesday 21 January.
