Anti-LGBTQ+ Republican claims voting was rigged after losing primary by landslide

Valentina Gomez has claimed she lost her primary due to voting being rigged.

Anti-LGBTQ+ Republican Valentina Gomez, who previously filmed an offensive “weak and gay” ad, claims voting was rigged after another landslide primary loss.

Gomez lost her congressional race in Texas to Republican representative John Carter, who is 84. Carter secured 57.97 per cent of the vote (25,397 votes), while Gomez received just 5.6 per cent (2,455 votes).

As per LGBTQ Nation, Gomez’s campaign heavily focused on her claim that Carter had a “horrible health condition”. She also held him responsible for 200 mosques which have been built during his 22 years in Congress.

She was even banned from the Texas Republican Party’s events after she harassed Carter at a state GOP gala.

Gomez took to X on election day (3 March) to claim that the late MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk would have voted for her, despite the fact that he didn’t live in Texas.

“I want to make Texas the WORST place for terrorist muslims, groomers, PDFs [pedophiles], & corrupt politicians to live in so help me God,” she wrote.

According to the Pew Research Center, the state is 67 per cent Christian, two per cent Muslim, and 26 per cent religiously unaffiliated.

Gomez also claimed that the Republican Party was “stealing” her election by not printing her name on the ballots.

She said in a video posted on X: “That’s the only way they can win: by cheating, because nobody in good conscience wants to vote for an 84-year-old dude.”

But her election day posting didn’t stop there. She shared that she had voted and promised, without acknowledging First Amendment protections, to “ban hijabs, halal & put in place a TOTAL Muslim ban,” if elected. She also reiterated her belief that the vote was “rigged” claiming that she had “video evidence”.

Unsurprisingly Gomez didn’t take to losing the election well, and wrote on X alongside a video of her walking into the sea: “Congrats to the Muslims, the pdfs in the Epstein files, & the corrupt politicians. Texas chose an 84-year-old to represent them”.

She went on to claim: “Some people wake up ONLY after their son gets murdered, or daughter gets raped.

“Thank you to those that believed in me. Texas is not ready for change.”

In 2024, the controversial Republican candidate lost the 2024 Missouri Secretary of State primary election by a huge margin. Her defeat followed the release of a bizarre campaign video in which she told voters not to be “weak and gay” while jogging through a historically LGBTQ+ neighbourhood.
