Singer Harry Styles has got people obsessing over his sexuality yet again after his recent SNL appearance.

The former One Direction star addressed the never-ending accusations of “queerbaiting” during his Saturday Night Live monologue, also kissing cast member Ben Marshall.

Referencing past discussions on his clothing style, the “Watermelon Sugar” hitmaker said: “Back then, people seemed to pay a lot of attention to the clothes I was wearing, something called queerbaiting.

“And some people accused me of it but did it ever occur to you that… maybe you don’t know everything about me, dad!?”

After his kiss with Marshall, Styles added: “Now that’s queerbaiting!”

Since, fans have been obsessing over that it means and if Styles has publicly come out, with some suggesting he is “semibisexual“.

But, news flash – it’s not actually a thing.

What is “semibisexual”?

The term was coined on Tumblr as a way to mock the different labels within the LGBTQ+ community.

It’s described as someone who is “partially bisexual” – a person who is heterosexual, but says they are bisexual.

It has also been defined as “someone who is bisexual but is attracted to only one gender”.

Why is it controversial?

According to the Orientation Wiki, the word began as a mockery of labels on satirical Tumblr blog validmogai around April 2018.

Some have tried to reclaim it, such as those who describe themselves as heteroflexible, however it largely remains a controversial term in the LGBTQ+ community.
